from what I gather religion from latin to bind, means whatever binds you to your view of ultimate reality.... in that respect I am agnostic as I have come to the conclusion that no one does or can know the ultimate nature of reality, not even a god like being.

the best we can do is to deal with what arises within our consciousness, and some or all of that can be hallucinations, so I try to gamble with my best skills towards contentment as this seems to be the goal of everything I do.

Beyond agnosticism, I have found that certain forms of meditation are able to bring peace of mind and improves the health of the apparent body... and so I practice that.

Blessings and Curses? Do they exist?

jw experiences abound with testamonial proof that god's blessing& favor is on them and the org, as well as, opposing curses that afflict their enemies.

all sorts of positive things are attributed to god, while anything negative is god's allowance of satan's influence.

(i was just as good as anybody at telling these kinda stories!).

people are familiar with the placebo effect.... but there is also the nocebo effect where a doctor tells someone they have a deadly disease and the person becomes depressed and dies much quicker than anticipated... people can be fall easily into self fulfilling prophecies by focusing their attention selectively to confirm what they anticipate and ignore anything that defies it.

example...to a believe any thing that is close to an answer to prayer is God granting them their request, and if nothing happens, God simply said no... to an athiest, his view is simply that sometimes things happen as he desires. sometimes it dont, no god required.

personally after abandoning the god in the sky model and adopting reality as GOD and me as part of the whole, and trying to focus my desires to the present, many miraculoous like events have happened to my apparent benefit and few tragedies if any.

while the evidence is not easy to interpret, and seems to point to gross incompetance from the most technilogically advanced nation on earth rather than conspiracy...there are still lots of questions which have been ignored and avoided.

ok, after seeing the other side's evidence, I am now 100% convinced I should not have said anything (^_^)

I presented what seemed like a very certain view because the way it was packaged to me.... and I will do that to see if evidence can be brought to show me wrong....which at this point, I am willing to say I was not fully informed. I still have plenty of questions about 9-11 in general and I guess its sad that the government lost my trust so long ago that its easy for me to believe that it could be involved in such a conspiracy.

and adjust my views and energies according to the feedback I get from the void which comes in many forms, but boils down to varients on pain and pleasure... much of what I see is pre-digested and handed to me from my dream maker.... hidden ideals and hidden templates tell me what is and is not beautiful for example...I dont have any choice in seeing this way, but I can understand how the mechansims work.

the only brain I know exist in this dream of mine...is it accurate to reality? I dont know.... but I dont see how my functioning can exist without something along those lines.... if I were nothing but a single pure spirit I would have no way to contrast and compare and read the data...so there seems no reason for me to believe I am not some sort of machine like the brain...but who knows?

the latest episode of dr who really made me laugh - the bbc script writers made some quite subtle but pointed digs at the government wo had previously 'won' (unfairly) after appointing their own judge as to whether the bbc or the government lied about iraq.. the pm got killed.. downing street got destroyed because of aliens with .... weapons of mass destruction that could be launched in 45 minutes seconds (which in the end turned out not to exist).

What do you think of the detailed point-by-point rebuttal that Abaddon posted from Snopes? Do you have further "proof" that isn't discussed there?

not much, I dont see anything I can check as evidence....I could not access it from my work computer so I will have to look at it from home

Also, from your point of view what actually happened to the four commercial airliners that disappeared that day? What about their passengers and crew? Do you think the many recorded calls to and from those aircraft were faked?

I have not seen much to suggest that at least three of them are unaccounted for, two hit the towers and one was downed in PA. only the one that supposedily hit the pentagon seems unaccounted for.

Even if there was some government conspiracy, why go to all the trouble of hijacking and destroying four aircraft, then firing smaller aircraft and missiles at various targets and pretending that they were really the aircraft they appeared to be? Why not just use the real aircraft?

I have not heard anyone say that any planes were not used but the one that hit the pentagon.... all evidence I have seen suggests that the pentagon was struck by something a lot smaller than the plane in question....any contrary evidence I would be happy to view.

Airplanes DO vaporize. I am a pilot (small Cessna's) and have faithfully followed everything I can about air disasters. I was at the crash site here in Pittsburgh when the US AIR flight (can't remember the #) went down about 6 miles from the airport. It totally disintegrated. The largest piece found was about 2 feet square. The largest body part found was a part of a thigh with the flesh and bone. Several heads were also found along with hundreds of other body pieces.

perhaps a plane can vaporize, but I have never seen a single crash site that did not have lots of debris everywhere easily visible, but of course I am only going by my own personal experience, not your years of crash hunting...so pardon me if I dont take your word for it without some evidence... I dont trust that easily, just because I go by what seems logical does not mean I will swallow anything you put on the web.
